Christmas Joy - An Antique Christmas Postcard Print

14 1/2" x 18" Framed (print size is 11" x 14")

Christmas Joy tells the story of a good day during the winter Christmas season. A much loved snowman with his black hat and colorful scarf, charcoal eyes and buttons, and long carrot nose, holding a broom as the snow begins to fall. He is surrounded by nature, with a warm cabin in the background. Holly branches frame this tranquil scene and beautifully choreographed lettering brings it all together.

These framed prints are original designs done in acrylics by Bonnie Wolfe. They are dry mounted onto a board and framed in a black wood frame. Her unique style includes sponging and washing techniques which lends itself to warm nostalgic scenes indicative of the old Christmas cards enhanced with embellished fonts.

About the Artist:
Bonnie Wolfe was born, raised and still resides in the Upper Sandusky area. Her initial art career began as a graphic artist for a local sporting company, allowing her to be creative with logo design as well as working with emulsions and screen developing in the lab well before everything was digitally composed. Raising a family inspired her to create her own business, allowing her the freedom to work at home. Through exclusive art shows throughout Ohio and Michigan she sold her artwork all across the country and abroad. Having no formal training, her art is more (strike 'more') instinctual and more about discovery; learning new techniques every day. Her current works are in watercolor, acrylic, ink and oils. She has been teaching adults and children for the past 22 years in her home studio. She teaches fundamentals and adds non-traditional methods she has developed over the years such as sponging, washing, glazing and splattering.

(Her) Students find her never-ending enthusiasm to be contagious. Bonnie continues to challenge herself by seeking special retreats with well-known artists such as Dr. Kyle Parks and Vance Shepherd. Through their influence, she has been introduced to “plein air” which has gently (or not so gently) pushed her to stretch even further.

Bonnie’s work has been on display at various galleries and trade shows throughout the country.

"I feel like I have only begun to touch the surface of what is possible. I feel truly Blessed."
